KICKS 4 CHANGE

Scoring Goals for a Better Tomorrow
On October 20th 2024, we, Rahhya Ostwal and Shenaya Sheth proudly hosted KICK4CHANGE, a charity football tournament that united sports, compassion, and community action. After playing football for more than 5 years, we’ve realised how limited tournament opportunities are for women, even today. Which is why we decided to host a women’s tournament and given the chance, of course, we donated our proceedings to charity.
Choosing a charity is complicated as every charity is important and funds are fundamental to keep them running. We decided to partner with SRCC Children’s Hospital. Our donations went towards prosthetics and patient care for underprivileged children. This decision made the most sense to us as developing prosthetics and the physical therapy that comes along with it is an extremely expensive process and we had the opportunity to give a disabled child a new life. Giving children prosthetics would help them reintegrate into society and give them the opportunity to be more independent as people. The importance of these funds cannot be overstated. For children in need of prosthetics, access to these life-changing devices means more than physical mobility—it means a chance to experience a childhood filled with play, confidence, and joy. Similarly, contributing to patient care ensures that every child, regardless of financial background, can receive the high-quality medical attention they deserve.
The tournament itself was a celebration of teamwork, inclusivity, and determination. Female teams from across the community came together, displaying skill, sportsmanship, and a shared commitment to the cause. The cheers from the sidelines, the camaraderie between teams, and the unity among players and spectators alike created an unforgettable atmosphere.

OUTCOME OF PROJECT
Organizing Kick4Change was an incredible journey. From managing logistics to engaging with participants, every detail was meticulously planned to ensure a meaningful and successful event. But it wasn’t just about what happened on the pitch. It was about creating a ripple effect of change that extends far beyond a single day. Our main objective was not only to donate to SRCC but to educate more individuals about their work and their importance. We wanted to spread information about the work they do so that more people outside the tournament can decide to help fund this amazing institution as well.
We are immensely proud of what KICK4CHANGE achieved. By donating the funds to SRCC Children’s Hospital, we know that every match played and every cheer heard contributed to a brighter future for children who need it most.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this initiative— the teams, the audience, and, most importantly, SRCC Children’s Hospital for their unwavering dedication to improving children’s lives. We hope this tournament inspires more people to use their passions and skills to make a difference.
